Finally done spring cleaning :)

I am so ready for summer. Got my house clean enough for my kids to have friends over lol. With all the cleaning I have not had time to create. WELL!!! I finally did some collage artist trading cards last night. I will post them. Today I plan on doing a lot of creating . :) Its suppose to rain today but the rest of the week looks pretty good with temps in 90's. Good weather to turn on air and create alot lol.

This is me today realizing I have started totally spring cleaning today which will end up taking me a few day which I would rather be painting, stamping, collaging anything but cleaning, :(

Hey all, For the next two days I plan to work on some paintings of My new series (soon to be on sale) Those People sizes will start at 4x4 inches. Also working on some more Those people artist trading cards for trade on my favorite yahoo group Drawn & Painted ATC's .
Also going to start on a few more project. I have been having fun decorating dominos the past couple of weeks also.

Hi my name is Laura Jean and I am addicted to atcs

Hi my name is Laura Jean and I am so addicted to 2.5x 3.5 inch rectangles of joy. I am talking about atc's (artist trading cards) those wonderful little works of art traditionally done for trade only. I like to make atc by painting, drawing , collage a vast amount of other ways. Yesterday I did a turtle atc that was done with watercolors and brushstroke stickers.
Have also started and traded a series of cards called those people(you know those people you see on the street) lol

Long Needed Update :)

Hi, Its been awhile since I updated my blog. I have been going through a bunch of changes. I having been expanding my artist knowledge by reading up and playing with new techniques.

I am creating a goal for myself I would like to attempt to create and post a new atc card everyday.
Have received the newest issue of Sketchbook Magazine . It is full of ideas to be creative all summer and includes a calander for May and June which include ideas everyday of the month related to stuff happening that day. I may have to do a few.

I have joined a new group Fine Art Collaged Atc (yahoo group)
A bunch of wonderfully talented people.

Hoping to start selling some of my art on ebay and my website.

I am out of here for today :)

Are scrapbookers getting way to serious

Are Scrapbookers getting way to serious???
There are a number of copy cat scrapbook groups out there with different names but the same people. Why not just have one big group of everyone in all those group? And the rules in some of these groups just suck the fun out of the group.
Yes I will admit rules are needed but the extreme some groups go is just crazy. And lately they are so quick to judge and oust people just from hear say. It is a crazy world scrapbooking groups.
FYI: That was just my opinion and venting.

I have been drawn to atc (artist trading card groups) the people are a little more free in thinking (in my opinion) and relaxed.

I have found a great group (ATC -that deal with drawing and painting atc's and I feel right at home.

Happy New Years

Happy New Years !!!!
Can't belieive its 2005 already. Time just flies by. My dh made me a homemade Drawing/art table. I just love it. But now my workroom is torn apart so I can reorganize my room and make it more efficiant. LOL

We are also having a snow day in Nebraska today. There is a ton of snow. I just love all the snow I get all cozy and work on art and craft projects. Speaking of which I need to get organized have quite a few atc swaps I want to do. Before the due dates. I had a great time at christmas in MN at my sisters except I can't stand the smell of 409 don't ask lol. I have come up with some wonderful ideas for some jewelry to sell. I am still deciding if I want to sell it on Ebay or on my own website. :) Well thats enough talking for now . I am off to play a game with my family. :)

need to redirect the way my life is going!!!!

There is just too much going on in my life!!!!!
Talk about your brain overload.
I have figured out what I want out of life I am making the following list to remind my self.
1. Be a great MOMMY
2. Be a great Wife
3.Be a established Collage Artist
4.Go back to school to get an art degree
5. Open a gallery and place for kids and grownups to hang and have studios at reasonable price or (free after school for kids) the average poor artist can afford cause everyone should be given a chance.

Now the plan of action:
Get rid of anything that does not pertain to my goals in life.
Really listen to my kids and give them wonderful memories
Be a supportive and loving wife to my hubby.
Get my artwork out there for people to see and try to do art everyday.
Start looking into art schools or community colleges.
Try to look into ways to help fund my gallery and art community center.
Start budgeting the household money and start saving :)
Well that is my rambles for today.
Off to clean up my workroom and work on atcs.
